TONY TONY TONY TONY 2012

The Tony's were last night and as per usual, they were wonderful. Plus Patti LuPone made several appearances and she's da bomb. Plus she just always reminds me of the Will and Grace episode where Jack wants to cut her hair. This year was def the year of revivals and there were also like double the performances than last years show. Which, less-be-honest, that's pretty much why I watch the show.

This was the opening number and I laughed out loud through most of it. Despite my somewhat mixed feelings of the musical as a whole, this song is amazing.

Then Neil PH, who was hosting, sang this song. It's okay, not as good or funny as his song from last year, but not bad.

There were four musicals nominated for best revival of a musical and they all performed.

The first was "Follies." I know nothing about this musical, but I do know that you like it. However, this performance was by far my least favorite...

Next was Evita. Anyone in the cast look familiar? I'll give you a hint, he's livin la vida loca.

Next was Porky and Bess, which was probably my favorite preformance of all the revivals. Lets go on a trip to NYC to see it.

And last was Jesus Christ Superstar.

Porky and Bess ending up winning the Tony and then Audra McDonald (the main girl in Porky and Bess) won Best Actress. Also, did she look familiar to you? She played Grace in Annie!

The four musicals that were nominated for Best Musical were;

NEWSIES! AHH!! We must see!

The next is a musical called "Leap of Faith" and from just this performance I think it looks like it would be pretty funny

Here is the performance from "Nice Work If You Can Get It" and Broadway's favie Matthew Broderick is in it.

The last musical nominated was "Once" and I thought this performance was awesome.

Once ended up winning Best Musical and the main guy won Best Actor.

There were a few more performances from Godspell and Ghost (neither of which I think are good enough for the blog) but there was this mash up of the "Year of Plays" and I'm putting it on here so you can see some of the "Peter and the Star Catcher" I was telling you about.

Okay that was totes long and it took me forever. See you ONE MONTH from today!!!!
